Sorry for the delay but here goes the latest update. Seems Mickey has finally struck a nerve . Got to love the sisterly bond.
One thing about this page that I didn’t think about as I was writing is that the time table is kind of off- the page is supposed to give the idea that several minutes (maybe more than 10) have passed since Allen went to the restroom (well, technically he did actually go to the restroom) but taking into account his super speed, the reality is it’s probably only been less than five. But of course, the main thing to take away from all of this is that in those five minutes (or however long it’s been), Nick found an opportunity to slip away as well.
But why would he need/want to get away from the girls?
As mentioned earlier, this little story is a “tribute” to all those “great” black skateboarding heroes and villains who dominated comic pages for a time. Some of you undoubtedly caught them right away but there are a couple of direct references on this page that will maybe become much clearer if you read about this proposal by the late great Dwayne McDuffie (hat tip to longtime Stealth fan JR Carter for picking up on this one right away!). On top of that, there are references all around this week as the second panel is a direct nod to a scene from this page. If I didn’t know any better, I’d say Allen is developing an unfortunate little habit here. Of course, he’s actually on an official date with Carrie here but was just a guest at Ashley’s party so…
PS- Feel free to read whatever you want into my emphasis on the word “just” up there.
Wow, now this is what you call it a late update! I’ll be the first person to admit that this is unacceptable and anyone reading this has my sincerest apologies and a promise that there will never be another update that takes this long to post.

Apologies for the late update, a bit of a brain cramp with what to do with that first panel caused me to fall way behind this week. Finally though I decided to have a little bit of fun and harken back to the last time Carrie found herself pushed off to the side so to speak. On another note, I should say here that I’ve always found holding someone’s hand to be the most subtle but effective public display of affection. A kiss of any kind is more intimate but kind of fleeting, kisses, at least in public, generally don’t last long. Holding someone’s hand while walking, that’s something people are going to notice, it sends a lasting message.
