This little sequence that we’re square in the middle of was actually inspired in part by this thread on the BlackSuperhero.com Herotalk message board, I had already established in my head what Carrie’s backstory was and felt that revealing it here would provide a good opportunity to explore the kind of issue not normally addressed in a “simple” superhero comic. Of course, I’ve never actually thought of Stealth as just a “simple” superhero comic so there’s that. In case anyone is wondering, I specifically had Allen’s pronunciation of Carrie’s real name spelled out for emphasis in order to make it clear why what happens next happens next.

It is my honor to announce the next two weeks will feature guest artwork by the amazingly talented Jamar Logan! This is particularly meaningful for me because way back in the day (circa 2000-2001) when we were both still basically kids, Jamar and his online comic (what we called them back then) Demon Universe were a major inspiration for me to put Stealth out online. This actually came about in pretty short notice, Jamar contacted me just last week and asked if he could do the next page- I’m actually kind of upset with myself that I couldn’t go back and re-work everything so that Jamar could have had an action sequence to draw but rest assured, he’ll be back on board in a couple of weeks for just that!
The speech in the last panel here was actually supposed to be more bombastic and spell out a bit more of the plot (mostly confirming things that should already be kind of obvious by now) but I decided to tone it done a bit at the last minute.
Apologies for the late update, this week was abnormally rough with some non-comic related items. In case it hadn’t been clear before, the identity of The Mastermind should be considered officially revealed, even if he doesn’t come right and say it.
